Tesla Vehicle Integration
Non-Disclosure Agreement: I will only disclose non-proprietary information regarding my work at Tesla. All images are public knowledge.
I worked at Tesla in Fremont, CA for most of 2021, and my experience there remains one of the most transformational of my engineering journey. I got to work with tons of teams across various roles and get the higher-level system thinking that often comes with being a more senior engineer.
During my Co-Op at Tesla, I led teams of 80+ engineers to integrate the Cybertruck overheads package, using cross-functional knowledge of electronics, body-in-white design requirements, and vehicle design. In simple terms, I was responsible for bringing the individual components together to become one cohesive overheads system.
On top of the vehicle packaging design, I also designed fixtures that allowed major subassemblies of the vehicle prototype to locate together and be taken apart easily. I utilized first principles of mechanics to minimize torsion & deflection during this design process. This work allowed for seamless & quick assembly line testing.
This video from Tesla illustrates the performance capability of the completed truck.
